Many a housewife will be happy to tell you that her brand new home carpet cleaner was the voted the Vacuum Cleaner Best Rated for Bells & Whistles when compared with other competing brands and products. But let’s not get overexcited here okay! High street shopping is full of hype, and that’s just a plain fact of life. That’s not to say there’s anything wrong with product information, but the bottom line is that just about every single consumer items tells us we NEED the product, and our lives will be somewhat unmanageable without it. Of course there are some great products out there, be they vacuum cleaners, washing machines, refrigerators or whatever, but for those in similar price ranges are all pretty much as good as each other, hence the hype. A little education on sensible shopping can really help us to not only save money by purchasing only what we really need, but will also help us to get those things which will benefit us the most, meaning we wont buy into all of the bells and whistles that we’ll most likely never need. Funnily enough, it is men, not women, who get sucked in with gadgetry that never gets used!
